Shungite is a black stone, more than 2 billion years old, resembling coal. It is a unique natural derivative, intermediate between amorphous carbon and graphite. Shungite is usually a stone composed mainly of finely divided spherical carbon in the crystalline phase (98%) and special carbon - fullene. Shungite has adsorption activity (ability to absorb substances from the environment), bactericidal effect, high adhesion properties (ability to communicate with any substances), radio frequency shielding properties. It is used to protect against electrical radiation near computers.

Shungite has been used in medicine since the early 18th century. Peter the Great established the first Russian spa in Karelia to take advantage of the water purification properties he experienced first. He also encouraged its use in supplying purified water to the Russian army.

Mala - prayer beads

The bead necklace is mainly used to count repetitive mantras. So in fact it serves the same purpose as pink. Attention - clean your Karelian shungite objects!

We feel obligated to mention that both polished and unpolished Karelian shungite can leave black stains on clothing and skin. This is due to the high carbon content of shungite. This is a natural property of the mineral and can be an additional sign of product authentication.

You can wash shungite products gently under warm running water. This is especially important for pendants and other items with holes where dust may remain after manufacture. After washing the shungite products, charge them by placing them in the sun for a few hours.

Unprocessed shungite chips also emit a lot of carbon, but that’s certainly not a problem. Untreated shungite is mainly used to reduce electrical pollution, absorb radiation, and improve feng fungus in living and office spaces. You can leave the shungite in a transparent container with a tight-fitting lid or put it in a decorative container and place it in a place you want out of reach of small children or animals.
