Black cumin has a unique aroma and is mostly used in floury baked goods (bread, pancakes, scones...). It is also suitable for seasoning pickles and vegetable dishes.

In order for the black grain aroma to be fully revealed, it is roasted in hot fat before adding it to the dish. If there are no other instructions, use one teaspoon for 3-4 black portions.

Nigella sativa (lat. Nigella sativa ) is a plant of the Ranunculaceae family, common in the Middle East and Europe.

The plant is annual, herbaceous, up to 40 cm high. The stem is erect, four-sided, branched, slightly hairy. The leaves are 2-3 times feathery divided into narrow blades.
