Pure coarse sea salt from the French coast.
It contains:
- Traditionally produced
- Rich in minerals
Our French sea salt comes from Ile de Re, an island that receives an annual award for the cleanliness of its shores. The salt is separated by the natural drying of seawater in lakes with clay bottoms. This preserves many minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, copper, iron, zinc and iodine. This salt has a high moisture content, a characteristic grey colour and a mild taste.
French sea salt is hand-picked from the Atlantic coast. This salt is unrefined and thus retains all its naturally occurring minerals. It has a lower sodium chloride content (83-87%) than other types of sea salt. French sea salt is great for salads and fresh vegetable stews.
The flake salt is extracted naturally by evaporation of seawater by sun and wind. The water is evaporated until the crystals take on their characteristic flake shape. The crystals of this salt can vary in size from larger pyramidal flakes to paper-thin flakes.
