Psyllium husks are the seed parts of the plant Plantago ovata, native to India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. They are hygroscopic, so they can expand and become slimy. Psyllium husks are a rich source of soluble and insoluble fiber. Fiber plays an important part in a healthy diet, especially digestion.
